Dance, Baby, Dance!

Every new stage Talia has discovered has warmed my heart and has absolutely delighted me (with exception of this whole biting thing she's doing now). Lately her new thing has been dancing. She has always LOVED music and has always bounced to the beat, but now she actually dances! She wiggles her shoulders, bobs her head, and sticks her diapered bum out while giving it a good shake.

My favourite part of this is that she'll dance a bit to "kid" music, but put on Foo Fighters, The Killers, or anything with a real beat and this girl is squealing with delight and busting a move like there's no tomorrow. (She has a sick love for corny music like Rick Astley's Never Gonna give you up). She even lets us know when she wants to dance, she'll grab one of her musical toys, turn it on, try to dance to the short tune it plays, then gives us dirty looks until we turn some real music on for her.

Mary Poppins has already started to notice (with some concern I think) Tali's complete lack of interest in the typical Nursery Rhymes and  Lullaby's. The other day she mentioned that any time they sing them together, Tali will start singing her own tune instead of whats being played. This doesn't surprise (or really concern) me in the least. I sing her Twinkle Little Star, and she'll sit there giving me a blank state until something she likes is turned on. I still sing her, and play her the typical Baby music to make sure she's exposed to it.. I don't want her to be that kid when she starts into school! But in the mean time, we're going to turn up the Foo Fighters and have a dance party!
